Former Wildcats succeeding in college
Bruck earns all-conference honors at Chemeketa

Megan Wochnick
   Pacific Lutheran University
In her third season at PLU, Wochnick took 11th place in the hammer throw at the NCAA Division III National Track and Field Championships.
Wochnick’s top throw came in at 159-0.
In 2005, she claimed All-American honors by taking sixth in the 20-pound weight throw.
Wochnick was a three-time state qualifier in her four years at Wilsonville High School.
   Alanna Pledger
   Willamette University
In her freshman year at Willamette, Alanna Pledger finished sixth place in the high jump at the NCAA Division III National Track and Field Championships, held at Benedictine University in Illinois.
Pledger cleared 5-5 in her first appearance at the event to finish in a three-way tie for sixth.
The finish earned Pledger, who was a three-event star for the Wilsonville track and field team a year ago, NCAA All-American status.
   Dylan Bruck
   Chemeketa Community College
Bruck, who signed a letter of intent to play baseball for San Jose State University next school year, was selected an all-NWAACC second-team outfielder.
The former Wildcat hit six home runs (fifth in the conference) and had a batting average of .310 this season for Chemeketa.
The Storm finished 14-16 in league play and 22-23 overall.
   A.J. Casteel
   Lane Community College
Former Wildcat A.J. Casteel ran to third place in the 1,500 meters and fifth place in the 3000-meter steeplechase at the NWAACC Track & Field Championships in Spokane last month.
Over the course of the season, Casteel ran the NWAACC’s best time in the 800 meters (1:51.80) and 1,500 meters (3:55.09).
His time of 1:51.80 in the 800 at the Oregon Twilight Meet at Autzen Stadium placed him fourth overall in a field that included runners from University of Oregon, Wake Forest and a number of Northwest schools.
When he was at Wilsonville, Casteel played a role on the Wildcats’ three consecutive 3A state track and field championships.
