Bernadine “Bernie” Frances Timbrel
A celebration of life memorial service took place March 8 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sherwood for Bernadine “Bernie” Frances Timbrel, 76, of Sherwood, who died at her home on March 5, 2008 of natural causes.
Bernie was born in New Ulm, Minn., on July 12, 1931, the daughter of Alfred Henry and Anne Elizabeth (Sperl) Juhnke.
She graduated from Washington High School in Portland. She continued to live in Portland for 15 years, then moved to California.
She moved back to Portland in 1954 and worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Sherwood as a carrier and other positions from 1964 until 1983.
She then accepted a position as Post Master at the Fairview Post Office where she served from 1983 until she retired in 1993.
She was a member of the East County Shroptimist Club. She enjoyed singing in the choirs at her church, bowling, and her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Bernie is survived by her husband Boyd W. Timbrel; three sons, David Fowler and Michael Timbrel, both of Sherwood, John Fowler of Pendleton; a step-daughter, Debbie Lawhorn of Wilsonville; sister Marcia Moore of South San Francisco, Calif.; and brother Marvin Juhnke of Portland.
She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment was private.

Wayne Smith
A memorial service will take place at 1:30 p.m. Friday, March 14, at the Molalla Moose Lodge, for Wayne Smith of Woodburn, who died March 7, 2008, at age 64, after a long and difficult battle with cancer.
Smith was born on July 11, 1943, in Wadena, Minn. He graduated from the Minnesota School of Business. In 1985 he moved to Oregon and went to work at the Molalla Moose Lodge as a bartender, where he worked for the past 22 years. He was known for his keen sense of humor and kindness. He enjoyed restoring old cars, and entered many car shows. He was a Lakers and Timberwolves fan.
He is survived by his companion Shirley Thompson and the Thompson family; parents Margaret and Melvin Smith of Minnesota; sons Steven of South Dakota, Allen (and Nancy) of Minnesota; David (and Robbie) of Iowa; sisters Linda Macklanburg of Minnesota, Pat (and Richard) Larson of Minnesota; five grandchildren.
A service also will take place in Minnesota. Memorials may be made in his name to the Molalla Moose Lodge Cancer Society Relay for Life.

Ivan Alan Ware
Private interment will take place at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland for Ivan Alan Ware of Sherwood, who died on Sunday, March 9, 2008. He was 83 years old.
Ware was born on Feb. 15, 1925 in Fargo, N.D. He moved to Oregon in 1950, and was a warehouseman for MacLaren Youth Correctional Facility in Woodburn.
His hobbies included organ music, rock hounding, making jewelry and photography. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his father Ivan Ware in 1985, his mother Agnes Ware in 1985, and sister Sara Spiro in 2003.
He is survived by niece and nephew, Lisa and Bruce Henke of Tualatin.
Remembrances can be sent to Sherwood Community Center.
Arrangements are by Cornwell Colonial Chapel at Wilsonville.
